The Turn2U Scholarship Program Empowering Future Generations Scholarship Highlights Annual Award: Up to $5,000 per year. Maximum Support: $20,000 over four years. Mentorship: Ongoing guidance from experienced mentors throughout your educational journey. New in 2025 We now offer three scholarship categories: The Louise Redlitz Scholarship, for applicants pursuing higher education via two and four year colleges and universities, as well as vocational schools and coding academies. Founders Scholarship, reserved especially for the children of our students and alumni from San Quentin Rehabilitation Center, where The Last Mile began, and in honor of The Last Mile’s founders, Chris Redlitz and Beverly Parenti. The Hans Schoenburg Scholarship, specifically for adult graduates and alumni of The Last Mile from San Quentin Rehabilitation Center. This scholarship will only be awarded to one scholar per year. Who Can Apply? Eligible applicants must: Be the child or legal dependent of a current TLM program participant or alumni under the age of 26. Be working towards completing their high school diploma, obtaining a G.E.D, or pursuing higher education for the first time. Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 at the time of application and award. Be at least 16 years old at the time of application. Application Timeline Applications Open: February 18, 2025 Application Deadline: May 16, 2025 Award Notifications: July 18, 2025 How It Works Choose Your Path: Our scholarship supports a wide range of educational goals, including universities, trade schools, and coding academies. Apply: Submit your application below. This will include a questionnaire, two short essays (or one 10 minute video presentation) and your transcripts. Interviews: If your initial application is selected, you’ll then engage with our scholarship team through a two-step live interview process. Awarding: Successful applicants receive funding directly applied to their educational institution. Mentorship: Pair up with a mentor for ongoing guidance and support.
