Solve Challenge Final Go Virtual for 2020

MIT Solve’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic involved launching a rapid-response Challenge on Health Security and Pandemics. They received over 2,600 solutions from 135 countries, showing an 86% increase in applications year-over-year. The Solve Challenge Finals showcased the most promising and impactful solutions from around the world. Some of these solutions included Biometrics for Vaccine Delivery, a telebehavioral app called ShockTalk, and The Last Mile, focusing on in-prison tech education and post-incarceration mentorship.

The event featured speakers like Sal Khan, who emphasized the importance of side projects, and Madame Gandhi, a gender liberation activist, who called for more diversity in the music industry. MIT Solve will now collaborate with the selected Solver teams to scale their work and impact.
