Background:
Born in Los Angeles, CA on December 18, 1974. I am the 11th child out of 13 children between my parents. I grew up between California and Colima, Mexico. I attended high school in Riverside and in Los Angeles, but never graduated. At 17, I decided to leave my parents’ household in Mexico to seek my own fortune in life. I came back to the US and worked at a few fast food restaurants and warehouses lading and unloading trucks. A few years later, I became a truck driver myself and worked for a couple of companies hauling cotton packs from Imperial Valley and California Central Valley to Long Beach Port/Terminal. In 1995, I quit and started my own business. I never went back to school until I can to prison and started to question my own life, which was the hardest thing for me to come to terms with. Now, I see education as therapeutic, because it has empowered me to become a better man, and it has given me ever since my incarceration, the necessary peace of mind for me to serve my time.
